Spring and summer open up smaller wineries, local landscapes, and a relaxed pace that’s easy to enjoy. Just a few hours drive from Chicago, these journeys are designed as short, focused experiences — ideal for one to three days — highlighting regional producers and local character through approachable, well-paced itineraries.
Land of iconic and distinctive champagne houses, historic chalk soils, and deep cellars carved into the landscape — a region shaped by history and protected over time.
We will learn about the region, the making of champagne, and the Houses' styles. We will visit the elegant Épernay, walk the Avenue de Champagne and visit historic houses, with meals and tastings that place production methods and history into context. We will walk through Aÿ and Hautvillers, where Champagne was born. The visit would not be complete without the majestic and vibrant Reims — its iconic champagne houses and cathedral.
Paso Robles has a bit of a rebel streak.
Boutique wineries, limestone-rich soils shaped by an ancient seabed, coastal breezes and winemakers who settled here to build something new all define a modern, expressive style.
